The Chamber notes the announcement by the government that SDE Ltd has paid a sum of £130,900.24 related to the direct costs to government of the recent power outage without accepting liability for the outage.

Last week the Chamber’s board of directors met with the Minister and conveyed the deep concerns as well as frustrations of our members as outlined in our recent press statement.

The Chamber supports the new legislation proposed by the Minister and urges it to be introduced at the earliest opportunity.

The Chamber is also currently reviewing its options for recovering the considerable costs to our members which the power cut caused on 16^th September and we will communicate with our members directly once a decision has been reached.
