Chamber meets with Ashley Fox MEP
A number of board directors of the Chamber of Commerce met with MEP Ashley Fox at the Chamber to discuss a number of issues affecting local businesses.
Mr Fox was particularly interested to learn what impact the border queues were having on the private sector. The board updated Mr Fox on the situation and informed Mr Fox that an EU representative posted to Gibraltar for an indefinite period to monitor border queues in real time would be desirable and asked him for his assistance on this. They also apprised him of other measures which have been implemented by the Spanish government aimed at damaging Gibraltar’s economy.
Mr Fox said he will try his best to assist and will meet his EU counterpart to discuss this on his return to Brussels.
